Eugene Fleenor

Eugene Fleenor BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. Eugene Fleenor, age 89, passed away on ednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, in the Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 28, 1921, in Washington County, Va., a son of the late Sidney and Pearl Murray Fleenor, and has lived all of his life in the area. He was a retired truck driver from Holston Defense. Mr. Fleenor was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. Mr. Fleenor was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Roderfer Fleenor; sons, David Lynn Fleenor and Larry Fleenor; granddaughter, Tammy Clendenin; brothers, Joe Fleenor, Earl Fleenor, and Herbert Fleenor; sisters, Carrie Barger, Minnie Murray, Ruth Weatherly, Jeanette Houser, and Levine Greer. He is survived by: sons, Allen Fleenor and wife Betty of Corsicana, Texas., Bobby Fleenor and wife Neena of Bristol Tennessee, Roger Dale Fleenor of Blountville; daughters, Wilma Jean Clark and husband Bruce of Bristol Tennessee, Linda Arnold and husband Jerry of Bristol Virginia, Louella McGuire and husband David of Blountville; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; six great- great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mr. Fleenor will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Arnold officiating. The burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, with military honors by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be great- grandsons and friends. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday and at the home of Wilma Clark at 1512 Kentucky Ave., Bristol, TN.
