Garnet Bruce Meade Garnet Bruce Meade, 70, died Sept. 26, 2010, in Tyler, Texas. G.B. was born Jan. 8, 1940, in Tacoma, Va. He spent most of his life in Castlewood, Va. He graduated from Coeburn High School and went to Clinch Valley College in Wise, Va. He retired from Pittston Coal Company and served briefly on the Russell County School Board. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. G.B. was preceded in death by his parents, Garnet Meade and Lynell Banner. He is survived by wife, Louise Meade: daughter, Serena Young; stepfather, Stanley Banner; sister, Judy Kay Turri; and brothers, Jimmy Banner and Stan Banner Jr. He also had one granddaguther, Ava Young; and several nieces and nephews. A service will be held Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at 6 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Church Pastor, Harry Layell will officiate.
