Gary Douglas "Peanut" Urbani ABINGDON, Va. Gary Douglas "Peanut" Urbani died on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at the age of 53. He went home to be with the Lord after recently accepting Jesus as his personal Saviour. Gary was born on Jan. 25, 1956, in Abingdon. He was the son of Henry McKinley and Betty Annis Brittenham Urbani. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Urbani. Survivors include his mother, Betty Annis Brittenham Urbani; his brother, Tony Urbani; his sister, Bonnie Hinchey and her husband Troy; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, from 5 to 7 p.m. Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Haven of Mercy Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 5490, Johnson City, TN 37602l; or the Haven of Rest Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 372, Bristol, TN 37621. Those wishing to express sympathy online may do so by visiting www.farrisfuneralservice.com and signing the online guestbook. May God grant him the peace he sought. At his best he was the kindest, strongest most caring person you would ever hope to meet. I am thankful to have known him and called him my friend. You will be missed Gary and you will always be loved.
