Geneva Viers James Geneva Viers James, age 82, passed away Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010. She was born on Feb. 18, 1928, in Buchanan County, Va., to the late Charlie M. and Elizabeth Viers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Ford James Jr. Mrs. James was the former owner of Tri-City Monument Company and a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. She leaves behind her daughter, Debbie Ann Burbank and her husband, Richard of Bristol Virginia; her son, Ernie Lee Viers and his wife, Linda of Greensboro, N.C.; a grandson, Derek Devon Phillips of Abingdon, Va.; great-grandson, Dylan Devon Phillips; and a sister, Mae Bird of Bristol Virginia. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010, in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Pickle officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 11:30 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at Akard Funeral Home. E-mail condolences may be sent to the family at [email protected] Akard Funeral Home, 1912 W.
