George Willis Lambert VANSANT, Va. Mr. George Willis Lambert, 74, of the Hurricane Creek Road section, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at his home. Born April 11, 1936, in Buchanan County, Va., he was a son of the late Marion and Maudie Fletcher Lambert. He had spent most of his life in the Buchanan county area and was a member of Tiller Town Freewill Baptist Church. A retired coal miner, he had been employed by T & R Coal Company of Haysi and R.S. Mining of Kentucky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Boyd, Pearl Cook, Bonnie Lambert and Ruth Coleman; and two brothers, Clyde Lambert and Bill Lambert. Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Helton and husband, Timmy of Davenport and Michelle Hall of Silver Springs, Md; one son, Mark Lambert of California; four grandchildren, Tiffany Busby and husband, Rubert of Statesboro, Ga., Ronald Eugene Beavers Jr. and wife, Noor of Charlottesville, Va., Destiny Lambert of Maryland, and Tracy Hall of Fredricksburg, Va.; two great-grandchildren, Kylie Maynard and Sean Kimmons; one sister, Blanche Ratliff of Vansant; three brothers, Wayne Lambert of Fletchers Ridge, Elmer Lambert and wife, Arlene and Clinton Lambert and wife, Joyce all of Rosedale, Va.; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Va., with Rev. Kyle Ratliff and Pastor Carl Burmeier officiating. Interment will follow in the Lambert Cemetery on Fletchers' Ridge, Va. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home at anytime prior to the funeral hour.
