Gerald Dean Combs Gerald Dean Combs, 84, died Saturday, at Parkview Hospital. Born in Roanoke, Va., to the late Hyatt and Maude Combs, he retired from Harvester and in retirement worked at Wells St. Hardware. He was a Korean Army veteran. Surviving are his wife, Maxine Combs, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; son, Charles Combs, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; daughter, Kathy Combs, Ft. Wayne; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd., with calling 1 hour prior to service. There is also calling Tuesday, 3 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers preferred memorials to the family.
