Glenna "Ma" Jones DANTE, Va. Glenna "Ma" Jones, 79, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at her home. She was born in Russell County, Va., daughter of the late McCoy Robinson and Maggie Hawkins Robinson Maxfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Jones; one son, Jerry "Casey" Wayne Jones; one grandson, Larry Eugene Booher; one granddaughter, Wendy Susanne Shortt; one great-grandson, Joshua Eugene Booher; two sisters, Betty Greer and Nannie Ruth Fields; two brothers, Harold Robinson and Robert "Boozer" Robinson. She is survived by four daughters, Brenda Sue Puckett of Bristol Virginia, Linda Lou Shortt of Bristol Virginia, Sharon "Pat" Taylor of Dante and Peggy Jean Arnold and husband Charles of Bluff City, Tenn.; one son, Jeffery Allen Jones of Dante; three sisters, Doris Hall of Dante, Judy Porter of Castlewood, Va., and Joyce Greer of Castlewood; one brother, Eugene Maxfield and wife Diane of Castlewood; 13 grandchildren; and two on the way; 10 step- grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; eight step- great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Glenna "Ma" Jones will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Va., with Rev. Ted Phillips and Rev. Jason Nunley officiating. Committal services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Dwight Bailey, Nell King, and Home Care Nursing and Hospice of Lebanon. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood. To All the family,
What a joy it was to have known Glenna and had the privilage of careing for her in the hospital and then with Home Nursing Co Inc. She always had a smile and she could make you laugh. May God give you the comfort that only he can, my prayers are with you during this time of sorrow.
