Gracie Bentley Totten Gracie Bentley Totten, age 74, of the Springville Community of North Tazewell, Va., loving wife, mother and grandmother went to be with her husband, son and granddaughter, Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010. Born Dec. 30, 1935, in Tazewell County. Va., she was a daughter of the late George Washington Bentley and Meely Davis Bentley. Mrs. Totten attended the Harmony Community Church in Belfast, Va., and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9696 in Bluefield, Va. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest David Totten Sr.; infant daughter, Shirley Totten; son, David Totten Jr.; granddaughter, Rachel Chapman; four sisters; four brothers. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Donnie Totten of Springville, Va.; daughter, Kathy Evans and husband, Morris of Chilhowie, Va.; two brothers, Billy Bentley of Oxen Hill, Md., and Bud Bentley of Shulavista, Calif.; two very special sisters, Millie Warner of Winchester, Va., and Janie McMillian of Rural Retreat, Va.; two daughters-in-law, Barbara Totten and Mary Totten; six grandchildren, Mandy Phipps and husband, Mac, Spec. Scotty Surber and wife, Kandi, Chris Chapman and wife, LaKeisha, Jonathan Totten, Angel Evans and Sonja Totten; five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va., with Pastor Mike Dye officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. Pallbearers will be Mike Salyers, Travis Camper, Anthony Camper, Chris Chapman, Scotty Surber and Phillip Bentley.
