Harry Absher TROUTDALE, Va. Harry Absher, age 71, passed away Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Va. He was a native of Grayson County, Va., and had lived in West Grove, Pennsylvania for thirty-eight years. He retired from NVF Company in Kennett Square, Pa., and moved to Troutdale, Va., in 1996. Mr. Absher enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Martha "Peggy" Absher; one daughter, Karen Ham and her husband, Freddie, of Mouth of Wilson, Va.; one son, Danny Absher and his wife, Cindy, of Troutdale, Va.; his step-mother, Mabel Absher of Mouth of Wilson, Va.; five sisters, Rose Ann Greer of Lansing, N.C., Phyllis Stamper of Rural Retreat, Va., Macy Culbertson of Chilhowie, Va., Penny Sizemore of Mouth of Wilson, Va., and Pam Absher of Marion, Va.; five brothers, Mac Absher of Independence, Va., Scott Absher of Mouth of Wilson, Va., Larry Absher of Whitetop, Virginia, Tim Absher of Mouth of Wilson, Va., and Kenny Absher of Marion, Va.; two grandsons, Jacob Ham and James Clero; two granddaughters, Tonya Cline and Maranda Absher; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at Azen Baptist Church in Konnarock, Va., with Bro. Johnnie Osborne officiating. The committal service and interment will follow at Azen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at Azen Baptist Church.
