Helen Dean Lucas LEBANON, Va. Helen Dean Lucas, 67, passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009. Born Oct. 13, 194, in Scott County, a daughter of the late Willard "Red" Dean and the late Nellie Meade Dean; and the wife of the late Kenneth Lucas. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Myrtle Osborne, Gloria Sue Dean, Brenda Faye Dean; four brothers, Fred Dean, J.W. Dean, Elmer Dean and Roy Clarence Dean. Survivors include one daughter, Martha Kay Dean Harris and husband Kelly R., Honaker; one granddaughter, Katrina Harris, Honaker; sisters, Zada Collins, Church Hill, Tenn., and Lorene Woods and husband Jerry, Callaway, Va.; one brother, Eugene Dean and wife Ruby, Lebanon; three sisters-in-law, Cora Dean, Nickelsville, Va., Carol Lucas, Dungannon, Va., and Shelby Drinkwater, Clinton, Tenn.; mother-in-law, Edna Lucas, Dungannon; brother-in-law, Holland Osborne, Castlewood; also several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, in the Combs Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Guy Harris officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, in the Sluss Cemetery in the Dry Creek Section of Dungannon. Those attending should meet at the cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, prior to the service at the funeral home.
