Helen "Hodie", "Nan-Nan" Scott Ms. Helen "Hodie", "Nan-Nan" Scott passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at the age of 88. She was born Nov. 27, 1921, in Washington County, Va. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Garland Scott Sr.; and her parents, Dave and Mary Moore; sister, Annie Margaret Pappajohn. She is survived by two sons, Garland Jr. and wife, Paddie Scott, Kenny and wife, Linda Scott, all of Marion, Va.; grandchildren, Garland Scott III and wife, Chris of Greensboro, N.C., Aimee and husband, James Mayfield of Johnson City, Tenn., Robin Scott of Asheville, N.C., Kimberly and husband, Bobby Holman of Atkins, Va.; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ashlyn, Mary, Josh, Abigail and Rachel, Jimmy and Mickey; brother, Emmett Moore of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Juanita Soloman of Woodmere, N.Y., Mildred Scott of Marion, Betty Jo Bangle of Marion; many special nieces and nephews; a very special friend, Helen Meek of Marion; her special dog, Tramp. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 8, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with the Reverend William Schoeneman Jr. and Reverend Harry Howe officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 at Seaver-Brown Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, c/o Bill Sword, 152 Fortner Ave., Marion, VA. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the Scott Family.
