Jackie Donald Stone SUGAR GROVE, Va. Jackie Donald Stone, age 80, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at his home. Mr. Stone was retired from the phone company where he had worked for 33 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a lifetime member of the Marion VFW Post 4667, Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department, Sugar Grove Rescue Squad, and a loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Johnson Stone; a brother, Bill Stone; and a sister, Thelma Hawthorne. Mr. Stone is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Don "Tinker" Stone and wife Chris and Albert "Porky" Stone and wife Nita, all of Sugar Grove; sister, Mae Leeman of Sugar Grove; brothers, Ivan Stone and wife Chris of Lincoln, Del., Roger Stone and friend Marie of Baltimore;sister-in-law, Sue Stone of Baltimore; brother-in-law, Kyle Hawthorne of Sugar Grove; four grandchildren, Jewel Whitworth and husband Justin, Amanda Crouse and husband Dean, Donnie Stone and wife Renee and Joshua Stone and fianc‚e Jessica; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Sugar Grove Baptist Church, with Reverend Billy Gwinn officiating. Burial will follow in Comers Creek Cemetery in Grayson County, Va., where military rites will be conducted by Marion VFW Post 4667. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
