My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I was one of David's best friends in High School. We went to all the Tenn High basketball and football games together, then go to McDonalds after the games. We went to Myrtle Beach together and we went sleigh riding at King College Golf course when it snowed. I lost touch with David a few years ago when I moved to Georgia, but he was always there when you needed him most. He was a caring guy who was a great friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

My thoughts are with David's family and friends. I had the pleasure to serve with David on the Bristol Jaycee Board of Directors several years ago and he was exactly whatever one is saying a "true gentleman and friend"--he will be missed.

My condolences to Dave's family and friends. To echo what so many others have said, he was a gentle and hard working. His service to community was inspirational to others who tried to emulate all that he did for others.

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.
David and I were classmates at Tennessee High School. By the many kind words that others have spoken of him, I see that the boy I knew then grew into the man his actions and attitudes presaged. Far too few of his kind are still among us today.

I knew Dave for many years as he was part of the very successful"Bristol Jaycee posse". That group of young men had a major impact on both the city of Bristol and on the Commonwealth of Virginia. This group of outstanding individuals has lost a number of its best people over the past several years and Dave's passing only adds to the sadness. Dave was well liked and respected by all and he will be missed.

David and I grew up a few blocks from each other. I even attended a couple events with David and must say he was always a gentleman. I remember meeting the gang at his house to go sledding or run the neighborhood. Although it's been years since I will always remember his kindness, his sweet parents and how he loved to talk about the church and the Jaycees. He will truly be missed and never forgotten. I only wish I'd had an opportunity to have seen him thru the years.I now live in Texas and read the Bristol paper online from time to time and was devastated about his passing. Yet I know Heaven is proud to have him. May God Bless you all.

I knew Dave from our Jaycee days many years ago - we shared many laughs together and he was always there to help out a fellow Jaycee or chapter that needed him. He was usually the farthest away from wherever we were meeting but always came without complaint when duty called. We will miss our Southwest connection.

Dave was one of the most caring and genuine people I have ever met. He also was very humble and I don't think he ever realized what an impact he had on everyone he met. From driving the tractor at Camp Virginia Jaycee at the Summer Board meetings (something he loved doing) to just being there to support a friend who needed someone to talk to, he was always a joy to be around. My deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and former coworkers. I have no doubt that Dave is in heaven with his parents and others who meant so much to him.

David was the Chaplain of the Virginia Jaycees the year I had the privilege of being elected the President of the Virginia Jaycees. He was a gentle man who truly cared about all his fellow men and women, and the world could use a million more like him. I will miss seeing him at our Jaycee reunions and hope his family and friends will be comforted by David's good deeds, memories and the knowledge that he truly is in a better place. Via con Dios, my friend.

Dave will definitely be missed by ALL who knew him. Although I didn't know him as well as some other Jaycees, he always had a kind word to say and a smile on his face. One of the nicest guys I have ever met...without a doubt!
My father passed away at 54 and it was several weeks prior to Christmas too and know this is far and away too young. I hope his family knows how loved he was in our Jaycee family and how much we will miss him as well.
God Bless,

Dave will be missed by his Church family and all those who've known him over the years. He was a wonderful, caring, kind person; one of the best I've ever known. He was a true Southern gentleman. I know Heaven is a better place with Dave residing there.

On behalf of the Virginia JCI Senate - we offer our prayers for strength and comfort during this difficult time. Dave touched so many of our Jaycee moments and brought many a smile to our faces. We will remember the strength he gave us and share it with his family.
