James Thomas Hagy Jr. ABINGDON, Va. Mr. James Thomas Hagy, Jr. age 91, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011, in Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 21, 1919, in Abingdon, a son of the late James Thomas and Myrtle Cornelia Hagy. He was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and his family. He was dearly loved by his family and will be deeply missed by them all. A graduate of VPI in Blacksburg with a Bachelors Degree in Business, he was retired from General Motors Chevrolet Division as an Executive after 35 years of service. He was an avid golfer and spent much time on the course at Glenrochie Country Club where he was a former member and more recently enjoyed playing Clear Creek Golf Club. He was also an avid woodworker. He was a well decorated U.S. Veteran having proudly served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II, having flown 30 missions out of Saipan as a flight engineer. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Alice Shirrell Hagy of Abingdon; two sons, James Thomas Hagy III of Unicoi County, Tenn. and Douglas Wayne Hagy of Bristol Tennessee; three grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah and Jimmy; mother of Jimmy, Nancy Foster; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Lewis and Mary Gordon. A service to celebrate and honor his life will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dale Wright officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening prior to the service. A committal service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011, in Knollkreg Memorial Park. Those attending are asked to assemble at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haven of Rest, 624 Anderson St., Bristol, TN 37620 in memory of Mr. James Thomas Hagy. A book of memories is available at www.frostfuneralhome.com Frost Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Abingdon, is honored to serve the family of Mr. Hagy.

I am so sorry to hear of Tom's passing away. I am sure he will be missed by all who have met him. If I can be of any help, please let me know.We will be praying for all of his family, for GOD to give you strength, both,physical and spiritial, and to give you a comfort in this sad and hard time.
