James Vance Dunn ABINGDON, VA Mr. James Vance Dunn, 59, a well-known resident of Good Hope Road in Abingdon, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was born June 27, 1951, in Abingdon the son of James Vance Dunn Sr. and Ellen Bertha Ritchie Dunn. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County and a member of both the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. He was a U.S. Veteran having proudly served his country during the Vietnam era. He attended Abingdon Bible Church and was a member of the Green Spring Presbyterian Church. Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his father, James Vance Dunn Sr. Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy Louise Johnson Dunn of Abingdon; two sons, Jason Matthew Dunn and wife, Jayna Sullins Dunn of Abingdon and Kristopher Mark Dunn and wife, Allyson Nelson Dunn of Bristol Virginia; his mother, Ellen Bertha Ritchie Dunn of Abingdon; one sister, Wanda Mae Dunn Robinson and husband, Wayne of Abingdon; and several nieces and nephews. Keeping with his wishes Mr. Dunn will be cremated. Due to inclement weather, times for a graveside service in Forest Hills Memory Gardens are incomplete and will be announced later in the Bristol Herald Courier. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Abingdon Bible Church, P.O.
