Janie Thompson Boatright KINGSPORT, Tenn. Janie Thompson Boatright, 93, went home on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at Wexford House. She was formerly of Fort Blackmore, Va., and was a homemaker. Mrs. Boatright was a loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Scott Boatright in 1996; her parents, George Clayton Thompson and Chloe Owens Thompson; grandson, David Brian Blackwell; her brothers, Calvin Thompson, Ballard Thompson, Emmett Thompson and Ralph Thompson; sisters, Claudia Thompson, Barilla Click, Lenora Gillenwater. Janie Boatright is survived by her children, Billy W. Boatright and wife, Karen, Kingsport, Tenn., Scotty W. Boatright and wife, Melissa, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Sue Ella Boatright-Wells and husband, Beech Hiltons, Va.; her grandchildren, Samuel Isaac Blackwell and wife,Kristin Kittery, Maine, James Clayton Blackwell and wife, Ruth, Roan Mtn., Tenn., Jim Boatright and wife, Cindy, Charleston, S.C., Angela Boatright Kenny and husband, Thomas, Fairfax, Va., Paula Boatright Lipka and husband, Brian, Fairfax, Va.; great-grandchildren, Chelsea Theriault, Hiltons, Va., and James Billy Boatright Jr., Charleston, S.C.; a sister, Kathleen Salyers, Bentonville, Va.; her brothers, Ray Thompson, Cape May,N.J., and Roy Thompson, Bowie, Md.; her special friends, Larry Linda Rogers along with several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Scott County Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. by Rev. Will Shewey at Holston View Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Dale Jett and Hello Stranger will provide music. A special thank-you goes out to Wexford House-500 Wing for the special care of Janie Boatright.
