Jim C. Strong ST. PAUL, Va. Jim C. Strong, 69, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, in the Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation, Weber City, Va. He was born in Scott County, Va., son of the late Charlie and Lillie Nash Strong. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Strong; two brothers, Ike Strong and Carl Strong; three sisters, Marie Mann, Eva Piercy, Charmie Dykes. He was a graduate of St. Paul, High School; he was of the Holiness Faith; he was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by one son, Michael Strong and his wife, Sherrie, of Coeburn, Va.; two grandchildren, Ashley and Alan Strong; four sisters, Peggy Hileman of St. Paul, Va., Juanita Culler of Princeton, W.Va., Gwendolyn Meade of Akron, Ohio, and Ethel Everett of Muncie, Ind.; two brothers, Bill Strong and wife, Alice, of St. Paul, Va., and L.B. Strong and wife, Theda, of Tonakawa, Okla.; three sisters-in-law, Carol Hall and husband, Bruce, of St. Paul, Peggy Hillman and husband, Richard, of Laquinta, Calif., and Glenna Ruth Osborne and husband, Ron, of Raymond, Ohio; special friends, Kathy and Kristy Cormier and Bea Burke; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Jim C. Strong will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, in the Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Va., with Rev. Grady McGlothlin, Rev. Ken Cormier, Rev. Harold Shortridge, and Rev. Don Meade officiating. Committal Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Va. Military Rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and Virginia National Guard. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Pallbearers will be Garry Hileman, Ronnie Mann, Danny Mann, Ricky Mann, Eddie Strong, and Justin Trent. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harold Shortridge, Arthur Reed, Bill Phillips, Bruce Hall, Ken Cormier, Jimmie Rose, Donald Woodruff, Danny Meade, and Dwayne Rasnick. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Va.
