Jimmy Roger Fricker BRISTOL, Va. Jimmy Roger Fricker, 64, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at the Brian Center and Rehab of Weber City, Va. Jimmy was a member of Bellmeadow Baptist Church for over 40 years. He was also an active athlete, running many races and participated in martial arts. Having run the longest, hardest race of his life, he crossed the finish line on Wednesday. He was the son of the late Edward and Violet Fricker. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Carrier and Lilly Ketron; and one grandson, Terry Lynn Bates. Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Gladis Murray Fricker; a son, Mathew Fouch and wife, Holly of Johnson City, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Patricia Castle, Pamela Fleenor and husband, Robert , all of Bristol Virginia; and one stepson, Larry Tate of Blountville, Tenn.; brothers, Windford Webb and wife, Shevella of Elemedo, Texas, Tommy Webb and wife, Patricia, Roy Fricker and wife, Brenda, Wayne Fricker and Jerry Fricker, all of Bristol Virginia; two sisters, Nannie Field and Martha Blair and husband, Mike, all of Bristol Tennessee; several special nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a special friend, MaLinda Hilton McCracken. A special thanks for all their loving help to grandson, Emory Kyle Bates, sister, Nannie Field and the employees at the Brian Center. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Roger Ball and Rev. Billy Denton officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Mendota, Va. Pallbearers will be Mike Fricker, Terry Lynn Underwood, David Field, Robert Fleenor Jr., Howard Shuttle and Jeff Gilmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Hubert Fleenor, Gary Shuttle, Marty Shuttle and Ronnie Gorley. The family will receive friends from noon 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
