John Matthews was a friend that you could depend on when you needed him the most. He always knew how to cheer you up when you were down, he always knew how to put a smile on your face when there was a frown. Grandpa John was the type of person that had mixed amotions about him. One moment he could laugh, the next he make you cry, and then he could make you even mad at him. But for everbody that ever met him could say that he could do the one thing he was great at and that was making you love him. There will be truly no other like John Matthews. He is a one of a kind human being. Love you Grandpa John.

I am truly going to miss "Uncle Johnny," I can only remember a few times that I spent with him, but I grew to love him so quick. He was a very good man with a great spirit. I'll forever have the memory of the best vacation ever in Cocoa Beach, FL. with one of the world's GREATEST UNCLES..I would like to extend my condolences to rest of my family. I wish I could make it to the services, but I have my college finals this week. I love you all. -Swan
