John Henry Lindamood BLUFF CITY, Tenn. John Henry Lindamood, 82, died on Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born to the late B.C. and Mary Bird Milhorn Lindamood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Ann Lindamood; and two brothers, Lynn Lindamood and Billy Lindamood. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and served on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Leyte. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church and worked for Coca Cola Bottling Company, Sperry-Univac, North Electric and C.E.M.C.O., from which he retired. John was an avid fisherman, hunter, guitar player and gardener and was involved in the church ministry, prayer garden and the children of New Life. John is survived by his wife, Joan Lindamood; nieces, Karen Lyons and husband Marvin, Sharyon McKinney and Vickie Hardin, husband Wayne and their children, Cameron and Rachel Rush; nephews, David Lindamood, wife Angie and their son Brack, Greg McKinney, wife Stephanie and daughters, Summer and Autumn; sister-in-law, Sue Lyon. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:45 Sunday evening, Oct. 24, 2010, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 8 O'clock with Dr. Bill Christian, Rev. Steve Price and Rev. Coy Webb officiating. The committal service and interment will be held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Leonard, John Slagle, Marvin Miller, Jimmy Grubb, Hank Willis, Tim Worley and Davie Brooks. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Reynolds, Jim Campbell, Frank Wilburn and members of New Life Baptist Church. Flowers will be appreciated or memorial contributions may be sent to the New Life Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 335, Bluff City, TN 37618.
