John Lance Mays CEDAR BLUFF, Va. John Lance Mays, age 29 passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010. Born Nov. 3, 1981, at Grundy, Va., he was the son of the late Sandra Denise Keen. He was a loving brother, son and friend. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one aunt, Brenda Sue Lane. He is survived by his stepfather, Lee Keen of Cedar Bluff; one daughter, Emma Louise Shepard; two brothers, Adam Lane and Ryan Mays, both of Pounding Mill, Va.; maternal grandparents, Burnis and Peggy Stacy Lane of Grundy; and one uncle, Kenneth Lane of Abingdon, Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, with Rev. Barry Absher and Rev. Doug Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with a service at 7 p.m. at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
