Johnny David Henson BRISTOL, Tenn. Johnny David Henson, 64, passed away on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was born Nov. 2, 1945, in Bristol Virgina, a son of the late Kenneth Clay Henson and Lydia Caroline Gross Henson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Teddy Henson. He was a lifelong resident of Bristol and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1971, having served in Korea during the Vietnam War. Mr. Henson was the owner and operator of Johnny's Treeworks and loved to fish and hunt. Mr. Henson was of the Baptist faith having attended several churches in the Bristol, Blountville, and Bluff City areas. Survivors include his daughter, Wendy Henson of Bristol Tennessee; son, Matthew Henson of Bristol Tennessee; sister, Hazel Henson Grubb of Bluff City, Tenn.; brothers, Howell Henson and wife, Patricia, of Bluff City, Phyll Henson, Billy Henson and wife Marilyn, and Herman Henson and wife, Karen, all of Bristol Tennessee; grandchildren, Katie, Seth, and Lilly Beth; companion of 10 years, Carol Weaver of Bristol Tennessee; a very special aunt, Mary Cooper of Bristol Tennessee; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Noretta Henson, Bobby Taylor, Juddy Mottern, Jason Woods and Mike Adams. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:45 Tuesday evening, Nov. 2, 2010, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home.The funeral service will follow at 8 with Rev. Gary Rowlette officiating. The committal service and interment will be held at 2 Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 3, 2010, in Shipley Cemetery.
