Joseph J. Eller

Joseph J. Eller MARION, Va. Dr. Joseph J. Eller, age 97, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, in Autumn Care of Altavista, Va. Dr. Eller was a member of the Medical Society of Virginia, Smyth County Medical Society and the American Academy of Family Practice. He was a graduate of Emory & Henry College and of Emory University Medical School. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the European Theater and was an active member of the Royal Oak Presbyterian Church. Dr. Eller was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Bundy Eller; his sister, Irene Graybeal; and his brothers, E. Vaughan Eller and K.L. Eller Jr. He is survived by one son, J. Johnson Eller Jr. and wife Patricia of Altavista, Va.; two grandchildren, Kara Eller and Kate Eller Dillard and husband, Brandon; two great-grandchildren Madison Dillard and Luke Dillard. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at 12 p.m. at Royal Oak Presbyterian Church with Reverend Alan Gray and Reverend Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
