Joseph Moore

Joseph A. Moore CHARLOTTE, N.C. Joseph A. Moore, 80, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, at his home. A native of Ferrum, Va., Mr. Moore was born to the late Joseph Moore and Della Shellor Moore on Aug. 15, 1929. He was a retired lieutenant colonel serving in the U.S. Army during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Mr. Moore was a member of American Legion Post 262 and the Earp Williams VFW Post 4059. He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Waltraud Moore of the home; children, Charles Moore and wife Susan of Mint Hill, Regina Hunter and husband Daniel of Indian Trail; brother, Thomas Moore of Johnsonville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Stephen and Heather Moore; and great-grandchild, Aiden Plyler. A private graveside service will be held in Salisbury National Cemetery. The U.S. Army Honor Guard from Fort Bragg will provide full military honors.
