Karen Walton Brown ABINGDON, Va. Karen Walton Brown, age 60, a resident of the Green Spring community, passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010. Karen was born in Smyth County, Va., on June 21, 1950, the daughter of Wallace and Shirley Davenport Walton. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a former employee of Johnston Memorial Hospital, where she worked as an LPN for 40 years. She enjoyed cross stitching and loved to spend time with her two grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace B. Walton; one sister, Brenda Jean McVey; and her father-in-law, Clarence P. Brown. Survivors include her husband, Rabbit Brown of the Green Spring community; her mother, Shirley Davenport Walton, of Glade Spring, Va.; two daughters, Robin Brown Bellamy and husband, Ben, of Gate City, Va., and Kristy Brown Miller and husband, Travis, of Meadowview, Va.; two grandchildren, Catelyn Marie Bellamy and Cody Miller; two brothers, Boyd Walton and wife, Nancy, of Michigan City, Ind., and Morris Walton and wife, Margaret, of Richmond, Va.; mother-in-law, Verna Mae Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, in the Mountain View United Methodist Church Cemetery on Rt. 75 in Washington County, Va., with the Rev. Les Ketron officiating. Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Green Spring Volunteer Fire Dept. will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening at Frost Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
