Lewis K. Barker Sr.

Lewis K. Barker Sr. BRISTOL, Va. Lewis K. Barker Sr., age 81, passed away Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at his home. He was born Dec. 7, 1928, in Bristol Virginia, a son of the late Milton and Ethel Sproles Barker. He was a foreman for TVA and was a U.S. Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Tester Barker. Survivors include: daughters, Vanema Grant and husband Bill, Judy Cole and husband Fred; son, Lewis K. Barker Jr. and Pat; grandchildren, Hope Sybert and husband Lester, Capt. Jeremy Barker of the U.S. Air Force and wife Nikki. Jeremy is currently serving our country in Afghanistan; great-grandchildren, Diane Millard and husband Kevin, Sharleen Sybert, Austin Barker and Abigail Barker; brothers, Bobby Barker and wife Birdie and Doug Barker and Nina; sister, Joyce Fleenor and husband Lloyd; also, three step-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Tester and Rev. Roger Ball officiating. The burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard and Tennessee Army National Guard. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
