Linda L. Rasnake

Linda L. Rasnake The sun rose on Nov. 23, 1942, in Richlands, Va., for Linda L. Rasnake, age 67, of Wilmington, N.C., and the sun set on Dec. 10, 2009, in an Alexandria, Va., hospital following a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late William Henry and Lillie Mae Harrison. Linda spent most of her life in the Richlands area and worked exclusively in garment manufacturing and women's apparel industry. She started her career as a production line sewing machine operator, then moved to the position of time study engineer, and eventually moved into various management positions. Her love for the garment business drew her to N.C., where she made her home in Wilmington for the past eight years. She enjoyed home decorating, gardening, bowling, and spending time with her friends and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Rasnake; and three sisters, Maxine "Daisy" Christian, Ruth Leffel, and Oma Harmon. Linda is survived by two sons, Mark Rasnake of Richlands and Matthew Rasnake of Alexandria; two grandsons, Brandon Rasnake of Wilmington and Chad Rasnake of High Point, N.C.; three sisters, Jean Ball of Edgewood, Md., Juanita Johnson of Richlands, and Joann Beavers of West Milton, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, Va., with the Rev. Thomas Stranger officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, Va. Her grandsons, along with Barry Alley and Tony Johnson will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff from 69 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009.
