Lindy Mumpower

Lindy Neal Mumpower BRISTOL, Va. Lindy Neal Mumpower, 78, went to be with the Lord, Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was the son the late Ben and Jewell Mumpower, and was a retired employee of Norfolk Southern, Railway with 39 years of service. He was a member of Kingsway Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Billie R. Mumpower; son, Kevin N. Mumpower and wife Ginger of Cookeville, Tenn., son, William "Benji" Mumpower of Orlando, Fla.; brother, Tony R. Mumpower of Towson, Md.; and five grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Todd Freeman and Rev. Donald Page officiating. The family will receive friends from noon till 2 p.m. Friday prior to the service at Akard Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kingsway Baptist Church, 1999 Long Crescent Drive, Bristol, VA 24201.
