Lola Cregger

Lola Sawyers Cregger MARION, Va. Lola Sawyers Cregger, age 83, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 200, in Smyth County Community Hospital. She was born in Smyth County, Va., to the late Alfonso and Nellie Blevins Sawyers, and was preceded in death by her husband, Howard "Jack" Cregger; a daughter, Saundra Sue Spencer; a great-grandson, Derrick Cabell; sisters, Mary Doss and Thelma Crider; a brother, Ernest Sawyers; and an infant brother. She was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Marion. Survivors include: one son, Jody Cregger and wife Pat, Marion; one brother, Bill Sawyers and wife Joan, Marion; one sister, Beulah Medley, Marion; five grandchildren, Duane Cregger, Tami Hayden, Michelle Nix, Nikki Martin, Dale Spencer; four great- grandchildren, Justin Orr, Jordan Hayden, Ethan Martin, Devin Nix; one great-great-grandchild, Derek Orr; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Marion with Pastors Andrew Bansemer and Jim Bangle officiating. Interment will follow in Attoway Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 1 - 2 p.m. at the church.
