Lola Marie Blackburn Walls ALVARADO, Va. Lola Marie Blackburn Walls, age 81, passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at her residence. She was a native of Mill Creek, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late Charles and Lester Blackburn. She was a past resident of Green Cove, Va., and had lived in Alvarado, Va., since 1971. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a very creative artist. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ira Donald "Don" Walls Sr; two brothers, Carl Blackburn and Jimmy Blackburn; and two sisters, Carrie Blackburn Dennis and Ruby Blackburn. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Walls Neeley of Alvarado, Va., and Deborah Walls of Abingdon, Va.; one son, Donald Walls Jr. of Charleston, W. Va.; four brothers, Fred Blackburn and his wife, Launia, of Beckley, W.Va., Charles ittro "Blackie" Blackburn and his wife, Marty, of Colonial Beach, Va., and Earney Lee Blackburn and his wife, Joyce, and Dale "Skip" Blackburn, all of Green Cove, Va.; seven grandchildren, Kenneth Mitchell, Heather Mountain Brewster and her husband, Carl Brewster, Shane Mountain, Michelle Mitchell Owens and her husband, Rick Owens, Jessica Walls, Erika Neeley and Lauren Neeley; five great-grandchildren, Emma Brewster, Samantha Owens, Kassidy Owens, Braxton Blevins and Connor Rutherford; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, in the Green Cove Baptist Church in Green Cove, Va., with Pastor Mark Baumgardner and Pastor Leonard Tenney officiating. The interment will follow in the Green Cove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Thomas, Shawn Lawson, Ted Durney, Brian Wampler, Vernon Brewster and Carl Brewster. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Mitchell and Shane Mountain. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Denise, the nurses, and nurse's aids at Total Home Care and Hospice of Abingdon, Va., Dr. Karen Tootle, and the Shriner's Hospital. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday prior to the funeral service at Green Cove Baptist Church.
