Lula McGlothlin

Lula Bell McGlothlin HONAKER, Va. Mrs. Lula Bell McGlothlin, age 68, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010, in a Johnson City, Tenn., hospital. Born May 12, 1942, in Buchanan County, Va., she was a daughter of the late Roby and Zella Mae Street Keen. A lifelong resident of the area, she attended Drill Chapel Church. She had formerly been employed at Honaker Mills and Russell Manufacturing and was a member of Ladies Friendship Circle and Rowe Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Dollie Wilson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elder Drew and Pearl McGlothlin; and sisters-in-law, Joyce and Vinnie McGlothlin. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Carlis McGlothlin of the home; two sons, Scott McGlothlin and wife, Alicia of Honaker and Shawn McGlothlin and wife, Cindy of Swords Creek; two daughters, Bridgett McFarlane and husband, Anthony of Chilhowie and Cathy Meade of the home; five grandchildren, Ashlee McGlothlin, Dustin McGlothlin, Logan McGlothlin, Colton McFarlane and Breeona McFarlane; three sisters, Dorothy McGlothlin and husband, Clinton and Georgia Johnson, all of Honaker, and Mary Hylton and special brother-in-law, Rondeau of Ashland, Ohio; one brother, Don Keen and wife, Violet of Gainesville, Va.; brother-in-law, Frank Wilson of Mississippi; step-mother, Leona Keen of Vansant; special friend, Terri Honaker; special caregivers, Bev Fuller and Gaynelle Bostic; several nieces and nephew also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ancil Childress and Rev. Bill Crawford officiating. Interment will follow in the McGlothlin Cemetery at Fletchers' Ridge, Va. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
