Mabel Hall Hughes CLINTWOOD, Va. Mabel Hall Hughes,age 86, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 2, at Clintwood, Va. She was a devoted housewife and mother and a member of the Pound Church of Christ for many years. She was predeceased by Hubert Hughes, her husband of 51 years; her parents, George and Lorena Hall; brothers, Elmer, Edgar, Earl Bill and George Hall; and sisters, Lillian Wright and Edna Gibson. She is survived by one son, Hubert Ray and wife Becky; one daughter, Lorena "Rena" Powers; and one very special grandson, Steven and wife Teresa of Clintwood. She is also survived by sisters, Mae Austin and husband Howard of Sturgis, Ky., and June Wicker and husband Gene of Greenfield, Ind.; and brothers, Alex Hall and wife Gleeda of Sturgis and Charles Hall and wife Pat of Greenfield; plus several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Hughes will be conducted at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. with Shirley Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
