Margaret Duff Alexander ABINGDON, Va. Born to this world July 12, 1915, in Erwin, Tenn.; left us Dec. 23, 2010, at her home surrounded by family. During her 95 years of life she was a diligent caretaker. She started her schooling at Lees McCray College and then continued onto John's Hopkins School of Medicine where she received her RN degree. She worked for years at numerous hospitals and doctor's offices before retiring as a school nurse with the Fontana School District in California. Margaret moved to Abingdon in 1975. She volunteered for years at the Abingdon Senior Center as a consulting nurse. She spent her retirement on Windy Hill, the Duff family farm, tending to her family and preserving the Duff heritage. She left behind three sons, David, Robert and Joseph Alexander; daughters-in-law, Pamela and Shiiko Alexander; grandsons, Brian and Jason Alexander; and granddaughters, Skye Pickholtz, Nova Collins and Hope Alexander; as well as two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2011 at her home on Windy Hill Farm.

Dear Joe; I'm so very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was such a delightful person.
Connie Catron Miller here from TN; my cousin, Eugenia Catron Knox and I visited with your mother a few years ago. Eugenia is a Duff descendant and she so enjoyed meeting your mother and spending a wonderful afternoon with her. I know you all will miss her and I know everyone who was privileged to know her will also miss her.

Dear Bob, It's Judy Ramsey in Cincinnati. You were blessed to have your mother so many years. I wish I had known her. I saw a photo of your ancestors in front of the "homeplace" in the historical society calendar. It looked like a wonderful pace! With sympathy, judy
