Margaret W. Cumbow

Margaret W. Cumbow MEADOWVIEW, Va. Margaret W. Cumbow, 81, passed away Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at her son's home in Abingdon. She was born Sept. 13, 1928, in Austin, Texas, and was a daughter of the late William Andrew and Mary Jeanetti Kelly Watkins. She had previously worked in the hospital kitchen for 23 years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gifford Cumbow; a daughter, Laura Jeanetti Cumbow; four brothers and four sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors are her son, Jim Cumbow and wife, Regina of Abingdon, Va.; her grandchildren, Tammy Jo Lewis, James Cumbow Jr., Tracy Lynn Muckenfuss and husband, Phil, David Lewis and wife, Janette, Penny C. Bise and husband, Jim, Melissa Atkins, Angie Bise and Jimmy Bise; five great-grandchildren, Candy Scale, Adam M. Cumbow, Derek Lewis, Kari Lewis and Jeremiah Lewis; and one great-granddaughter, Morgan Atkins; several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon with Pastor Kenny Widner officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
