Margie Lowe

Margie Lowe MARION, Va. Marjorie K. Lowe, age 80, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at the home of her daughter and son-in- Law in Marion. She was born in Florida to the late Luther Kelton and Verlie Smith Kelton, and was preceded in death by her first husband, Ben Gill; her second husband, Garland Lowe; and her granddaughter, Julie Blevins Whitt. She was a member of the St. Clair's Creek Regular Baptist Church. She had worked as a nurse at the Smyth County Community Hospital and retired from the Southwestern State Hospital in Marion. Survivors include: one daughter and son-in- law, Marjorie G. "Frankie" Blevins and husband Larry, Marion; grandchildren, Jill Tanner and husband Russ, Ben Blevins and wife Amy; great-grandchildren, Jonah Blevins, Isaiah Blevins, Ethan Blevins, Devon Tanner, Erin Tanner, Laura Tanner, Rusty Tanner; brother, George Kelton, Live Oak, Fla.; sister, Sandra Owen and husband Melvin, Tifton, Ga.; special friend, Betty Lowe. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Sam Vernon and Mountain States Home Care. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2010, at the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Reverend Joey McClure officiating. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 - 2 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Clair's Creek Regular Baptist Church, 408 Red Stone Road, Chilhowie, VA 24319; or to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
