Marietta "Retta" Nidiffer

Marietta "Retta" Nidiffer GEORGETOWN, S.C. Mrs. Marietta "Retta" Nidiffer, age 97, passed away Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at Tidelands Hospice House in Georgetown. Born Oct. 19, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Dexter Martin and Virginia Rader. Mrs. Nidiffer retired as the owner/operator of the Friendship Motor Court, which she managed with her late husband, Edwin Hunter Nidiffer. She was a member of Johnsonville United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed gardening and loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. "Retta" graduated from Bristol schools. Survivors include her daughter, Jane Kelley of Georgetown; son, Edwin A. Nidiffer (Glenna) of Bluff City, Tenn.; grandchildren, Karen Kelley Mitchell (Douglas) of Norfolk, Va., Pamela Large of Welcome, N.C., Ross Kelley (Lisa) of Suwanee, Ga., and Kathy Kelley Sullivan (Marc) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Caitlin, Matthew, Rachel, and Rebecca, John Ross and Thomas, Lindsay, Ashley, and Katie, Shannon, Stephen, and Andrew; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. "Retta" was predeceased by her beloved son-in-law, Larry Kelley. Funeral services, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, S.C., were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at Johnsonville United Methodist Church. Interment was held on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at in Glenwood Cemetery in Bristol Tennessee. The family received friends at the church at 1 p.m. Sunday.
