Martha Jane Davis Dotson COEBURN, Va. Martha Jane Davis Dotson, 78, was called home early Sunday morning, Nov. 8, 2009, after a lengthy illness. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as well as a lifelong member of Davis Chapel Church Coeburn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dotson; a daughter, Jennifer Dotson Hall; parents, David E. and Maude H. Davis; a sister, Dilly Davis; brothers, Glen, Donald and Will Davis. Surviving are her son, Jeff Dotson and his wife Cathy of Coeburn; three granddaughters, Brooke Dotson Mays and her husband Billy of Norton, Va., Breanne Dotson Salyer and her husband Chad of Coeburn and Ashley Hall and her fianc‚ Anthony Bowen of Wise, Va.; one great-granddaughter, Julianne Kate Salyer of Coeburn; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sturgill Funeral Home, 310 Sixth St., NW, Coeburn, VA. Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. in the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel Coeburn, with Pastor Clifford Bevins officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at the Greenwood Acres Cemetery, Coeburn. The family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. Sturgill Funeral Homes 310 Sixth St., NW, Coeburn, VA 24230, in charge of arrangements.
