Mary Frances Honaker HONAKER, Va. Mrs. Mary Frances Honaker, age 92, passed away Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at her home. Born October 8, 1918, in Buchanan County, Va., she was a daughter of the late Glen and Cora Breeding Crouse. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a lifetime member of Valley View Freewill Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher, Secretary and Treasurer for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Thurman Honaker; three sisters and one brother. Survivors include three daughters, Mildred White and husband, Bob of Swords Creek, Wanda Compton and husband, Roger of Rosedale and Connie Miller and husband, Rick of Honaker; two sons, James E. "Jim" Honaker and wife, Linda of Lebanon and Dallas L. Honaker of Honaker; one sister, Gladys Stacy of Richlands; two brothers; five grandchildren, Bobby White Jr., Vickie Vandyke and husband, Houston, Melissa Parson and husband, Everette, Chris Compton and Whitney Miller; two great-grandchildren, Amanda Vandyke and Taylor Compton; special caregivers, Beverly Fuller, Kimberly Miller, Stella Ray and Debbie Vance; and special friend, Jeff Matney also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Claude Rose, Rev. Roy Lee Wilson and Rev. Kenny Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon, Va. Pallbearers will be Roger Compton, Rick Miller, Bob White, Everette Parson, Johnathan Miller, Chris Compton, Jeff Matney, Houston Vandyke and Bobby White Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be men of Valley View Freewill Baptist Church, family and friends.
