Mildred Davis

Mildred Davis WYTHEVILLE, Va. Mildred L. Davis, age 88, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, in Wythe County Community Hospital. She was born Feb. 13, 1922, in Bristol Virginia, daughter of the late Monk and Maude Creger. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 63 years, Kenneth C. Davis; one son, Kenneth C. Davis Jr. and wife Paula of Ft. Mill, S.C.; two grandchildren, Beth Readling and husband Shawn of Mooresville, N.C., Jane McElwain and husband Lendle of Concord, N.C.; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucella Mumpower of Bristol Tennessee, Gladys Granger and husband Gardner of Winston-Salem, N.C.; one brother, Lonnie Creger of Richmond, Va.; sister-in-law, Mable Rock and husband William of Alexandria, Va.; brother-in-law, Ollie B. Davis and wife Joyce of New Port Richey, Fla. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at 11 a.m. at West End Cemetery with the Rev. Marty Taylor officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
