Mildred Dempsey CHILHOWIE, Va. Mildred Dempsey, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at her home in Chilhowie, Va. She was born in North Carolina to the late James and Nancy Blevins Eller. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Survivors Include: her loving husband, Sherman A. Dempsey Sr., Chilhowie, Va.; one son, Andrew Dempsey and wife Barbara, Marion, Va.; two daughters, Brenda Anderson, Marion, Va., Diane Perkins and husband Kenny, Stuarts Draft, Va.; two grandsons, Junior Perkins and wife Angie, Princeton, W.Va., Greg Perkins and wife Tammie, Marion, Va.; one granddaughter, Tanya Owens and husband Mike, Marion, Va.; her great-grandchildren, Emily Perkins, Trae Perkins, Andrew Perkins, Chris Perkins, Amanda Perkins and Rilly Perkins; one brother, Guy Lee Eller, Dublin, Va.; two sisters, Juanita Tilson, Marion, Va., Sondra Martin, Marion, Va.; her special friends, who were always there for her, Earl and Kathy Lowe and family, Chilhowie, Va., Joyce Edmiston, Marion, Va. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at the West Cemetery in Marion, Va., with Rev. Lundy Finley officiating.
