Nancy Carol Johnson Miller Childress ASHEBORO, N.C. Nancy Carol Johnson Miller Childress, age 73, formerly of Drill Mountain, Va., went to be with Christ on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, following a brief illness. Born April 12, 1937, at Richlands, Va., she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Virginia Taylor Johnson. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Rex Miller; her second husband, John Fields; three brothers, Ken Johnson, John L. Johnson and Junior Johnson; and two infant great-grandchildren, Dustin and Faith Laughlin. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Childress; two sons, Aaron R. Miller and wife Pinkie of Seagrove, N.C., and Rex R. Miller Jr. and wife Tammy of Bristol Virginia; two daughters, Karen Gray and husband Mark of Asheboro, and Ginger R. Tabon and husband Andy of Asheboro; one stepson, Anthony Childress and wife Gina of Wytheville, Va.; one step- daughter, Kathy Viers and husband J.W. of Max Meadows, Va.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Joseph Johnson and wife Dora Lee of Inwood, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at Buchanan Funeral Service Chapel at Keen Mountain, Va., with Rev. Ancil Childress and Rev. Bucky Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Ward Cemetery at Pilgrims Knob, Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday with a song service at 7 p.m. at Buchanan Funeral Service at Keen Mountain.
