Nancy Jane Thomas CHILHOWIE, Va. Nancy Jane Thomas, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at her home in the Seven Mile Ford Community of Smyth County, Va. She was born on June 7, 1939, to the late George and Josephine Thomas Riffey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Thomas; two brothers, Robert and Buddy Riffey; and a grandson, Christopher Thomas. She had been employed at Virginia House Furniture for several years and was a loving mother. Survivors include: her sons, William Thomas and wife Otessa, Seven Mile Ford, Va., Lee Thomas and wife Carla, Marion, Va., Gerald Thomas and wife Kim, Marion, John Thomas and wife Deedra, Glade Spring, Va., Joe Thomas, Seven Mile Ford, Va., Freddie Thomas and wife Mary, Seven Mile Ford, Mike Blevins, Marion; one brother, Mike Riffey, Pennaylvania; her sisters, Lucille Walls, Maryland, Mary Vaughn, Florida, Daisy Reed, Pennsylvania, Ruby Billings, Maryland, Mary Bartlett, Marion; her grandchildren, Victor Thomas, Christopher Thomas, Zachary Thomas, J.J. Thomas, David Thomas; two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Lillian Thomas; special friends, Maggie Murray, Bridgett Caudill, Rita Gravely. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, from the Bradley's Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie with Rev. Bob McCormick and Rev. Jimmy Lundy officiating. Interment will follow in the Middlefork Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
