OETA DAVIS Obituary

Oeta Fae "Anita" Davis BRISTOL, Tenn. Anita Davis, 78, died on Friday, June 11, 2010, at the Wellmont Hospice House. She was born Nov. 20, 1931, in Minnora, W.Va., to the late Greeley Badgett and Maysel Lucille Jarvis Badgett Stalnaker. She was an avid quilter and reader and was of the Christian faith. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Bernard and her husband, David, and Sharon Fleenor, all of Bristol Tennessee; a sister, Carol Hudson of Roanoke, Va.; two brothers, Oval Badgett of Newton Falls, Ohio and Loy Badgett of Orma, W.Va.; four grandchildren, David Felty, Rebecca Fleenor, Izsac Fleenor and Jennifer Bernard; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 Tuesday evening, June 15, 2010, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow with Mr. Roland Whittemore, minister, officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send memorial contributions to the Bristol Public Library,701 Goode Street, Bristol, VA 24201 or to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102, Johnson City, TN 37601. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jeanette and Kathy for their loving care.
