Perry Phillips

Perry Lee Phillips GRAY, Tenn. Mr. Perry Lee Phillips, age 51, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 2, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Phillips was a native of Washington County and son of the late Ed Phillips Sr. and Ora Fritts Phillips. In addition to his parents, Mr. Phillips was also preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Phillips in 2007; a sister, Julie Phillips; and three brothers, Ed Phillips, Robert Phillips and Carlos Phillips. He was a member of Northridge Community Church and United Emmaus Community. Mr. Phillips had been employed by Mountain State Health Alliance for 20 plus years. He received an associates degree from Walters State University, bachelors degree from Milligan College and master's degree from Tusculum College. Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Verla Phillips, Jonesborough; sister, Brenda Blankenship and fianc‚ Glen Bryant, Jonesborough; step-daughter, Parthena Barnett and husband, Brad, Johnson City; two grandsons, Broderick "Brody" Barnett and Montana Peyton Plank, Germany; special extended family, Scott and Noelle Shannon; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be conducted 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Richmond officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service and other times at the home of his sister, Brenda Blankenship. Interment services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Tyler Shannon, Matthew Shannon, Zach Hollified, Corey Gage, Douglas Phillips and Austin Fink. Honorary pallbearers will be his co-workers at Johnson City Medical Center.
