In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Aunt Daina know that yoou are in the thoughts and prayers of Divina and I. I will mss Uncle Pete. I tried to never come home without a visit. Pete taught so very much to a young man with no father. God will have a special place for him. I just thank God that I got to see hime one last time when we were up in October. Divina and I wish we could make it in but we will not be able to get in. God Bless and keep you Aunt Daina until we see you again.

•God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered "come to me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
I will truly miss Pete, he was a wonderful neighbor and friend.

My favorite verse for the perfect man.
This is true, Pete is with God. I will truly miss him. He was a wonderful neighbor, friend and father figure to me. I will keep him in my heart forever.

I am so sad...Pete was such a cool neighbor. We, my dad and I always were in awe of his gardening. The biggest and fastest tomatoes in the spring. Flowers spectacular! Nothing he could not produce in his garden. My dad and him for so many years kept a contest of sorts regarding tomatoes grown every spring. July 4th was the magic day. And the flowers,,,wow!..I remember the first knowledge of the "burning bush" planted across the street. I remember teaberry, and sassafrass and other plants that some of the gum was derived from. So many more. ....but always Pete was the neighbor that could be counted on if there was a need. Good people. I am so sad to hear he is gone. I was his neighbor for all of my childhood and high school life...and tried to keep up while I was away. Prayers sent up for Dana!...A lady...truly.....
