Rachel Duty Warner LEBANON, Va. Rachel Duty Warner, 83 passed away Sunday morning, March 10, 2013, in the Russell County Medical Center. Rachel was born April 26, 1926, in Lebanon, a daughter of the late Russell and Lyda Gilmer Duty. She was the wife of the late Cecil Warner and a member of the Green Valley Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, William Clifford "Tip" Warner; brothers, Charles Howard Duty Sr.; sister, Nancy Duty; and four nephews, Jeff Duty, Jeff Warner, Mark Weddle, and Charles Howard Duty. Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Warner Jessee and husband Johnny Jr., Lebanon; grandson, Joshua Balford Jessee, Lebanon; granddaughter, Ashley Rachel Jessee, Lynchburg; four sisters, Joan Fields, Lebanon, Mary Ellen Harmon, Knoxville, Tenn., Betty Akers and husband Tom, Bristol, Tenn., and Margaret Duty, Abingdon; one brother, Ruddy Duty and wife Sue Abingdon; sister-in-law, Ruth Whited, Bristol, Tenn.; a special friend, Betty Hughes; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Home Nursing Company, Lebanon Lifesaving Crew, Dr. Dwight Bailey and staff, Russell County Medical Center Emergency and I.C.U. staff. The funeral service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in the Green Valley Baptist Church with the Mr. Randy Williams officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in the Russell Memorial Cemetery. Those attending are requested to meet at the church by 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jarrod Farmer, Neal Farmer, Taulbee Jessee, Brad Kennedy, Daniel Barton and Ronnie Bush. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Dwight Bailey, Chris Huffman, Sen. Phillip Puckett, Toby Jessee, Ben Farmer, Ralph Huffman, Freddy Jessee, Johnny Jessee, Sr., Billy Hughes, Cecil (Bo) Hughes, June Fields, Ben Fields, and William Hughes. The family will receive friends 5 until 7:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Expression of sympathy may be made to the family online at www.combsfuneralservice.com.
