Ray Burns BRISTOL, Va. Ray Burns, 90, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, in Bristol Virginia. Mr. Burns was a veteran who served his country as an officer in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He had also worked as a plant manager for several dairy bottling plants during his career. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Neubert Burns. Survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Julie Burns of Abingdon, Va.; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Sarah Burns; and sister, Nancy Cunningham of Republic, Mo. Funeral services for Ray Burns will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, in the Chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home in London, Ky., with Dr. Terry Lester officiating. Interment will follow in the A.R. Dyche Memorial Park in London. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at House-Rawlings Funeral Home. A memorial gathering is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2010, from 6 8 p.m. at Farris Funeral Service in Abingdon, for friends wishing to visit with the family.
