Raymond Ernest Eden ABINGDON, Va. Raymond Ernest Eden, age 54, passed away Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at his residence. He was born July 22, 1958, in Maryville, Tenn. He was a graduate of Holston High School and had served in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his father, John Lewis Eden Sr. Surviving are his loving mother, Betty Eden of Abingdon; daughters, Crystal Eden and Angela Whitaker; sons, Kevin Eden and Brandon Greer; brothers, J.L. Eden and wife, Susan of Abingdon and Curtis Eden and wife, Susie of Hansonville; nephews, David Eden and wife, Sonia of Abingdon and Andrew Eden; niece, Jessica Foster and husband, Cody; his girlfriend, Pam Whitaker of Chilhowie; and a special friend, Edward Lewis and wife, Tracy of Florida. The family wishes to say thank you to Hospice of SWVA and their nurses, Sherry and Louise for the care they showed. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, in Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor John Chapman officiating.
