Tony, Linda, Donna and David:
You are in my thoughts and prayers during this time. I know you loved your Dad and you will miss him very much. Your Dad meant so much to so many. He has a special place in my heart. I'm not sure if you know this but when I was 18 years old, I started taking piano lessons and I didn't have a piano to practice my lessons on. I asked your Dad if I could practice on the piano in the church (Faith Baptist Church). He took the time to clear it with the necessary folks and a couple of weeks later in church on a Sunday morning, he placed a key to the church in my hand and said he wanted to hear me play in church one day. I never got good enought to play the piano in church but I never forgot his kindness and wilingness to help. Every time I think of your Dad, I see his smiling face. He brought the message in Church one Sunday morning and talked about his travels and the many people he had met. He said that "no matter where you go, a smile is a smile that doesn't need a translation." He was kind to everyone he met and no one was a stranger to him. Your Dad was instrumental in getting our family to attend chrch and later accepting Christ and joining the church. I will always be very grateful to him for that. He also performed my wedding ceremony. After the wedding ceremony, we gave him money for his part in the service, instead he put the money back into my hand and said, "have the first steak on me." That was who your Dad was. He has been a big part of our family and I am glad I had the pleasure of knowing him. I will miss seeing him in Church on Sunday morning when I am there visiting with my family. He will be sorely missed but I know he is smiling right now...brighter than ever before. God Bless.

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. He was a special person. He never met a stranger. May the Lord give you special grace to get you thru this. Just lean on him. May you take comfort in knowing that your dad is walking on streets of gold hand in hand with Jesus.

Tony, Linda, Donna,& David.
Iam so sorry to hear about R.C. I can't even imagine the pain your going through now, i'ts pain we don't even like to talk about let alone deal with! I loved your Dad and love your family like it's mine, we have so many wonderful memories from our visits together as small children and going to church together so many years. Tony remember working at the parts store (Houser & Perry Auto Parts) stocking that oil underneath the counter,we both know who worked the most, ha ha. Tony a memorie sticks out in my mind so clear to this day, you and R.C. walked in the parts store one day and stayed a long time later that day your dad called for us to come up front he said we had worked so hard he was taking us to Bristol to buy us a new bicycle of our choose and that he did,one of the best days of my life. Teddy and I were at Paul Worley 's funeral the last time we talked to R.C. Teddy asked him if he remembered what he was doing on that day 37 years ago and he said yes I do I was marrying you too. I have so many memories to cherish of your (DAD), I love you all very much, if we can do anything for any of you please let us know.
