Rheba Haga Casteel ABINGDON, Va. Rheba Haga Casteel, a life long resident of Washington County, Va., passed away on Oct. 6, 2010, in the Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, Va. She was born the daughter of the late Herschel Steele Haga and Nora Lee Miller Haga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burns Casteel; six brothers; and three sisters. She was a member of the Abingdon United Methodist Church. Survivors include several nieces and nephews; and her three sisters-in-law, Wilma Haga of Bristol Tennessee., Mildred Morgan of Abingdon, Mabel Casteel of St. Augustine, Fla. Graveside services for Rheba Haga Casteel will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the graveside in the Mountain View Cemetery in Bristol Virginia with the Rev. Walter Weikel officiating. The family will receive friends at the Frost Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, from 10 until 11 a.m. The family will not go in procession but will gather at the Mountain View Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. at the gravesite. A special thank you from the family to Hospice of Southwest Virginia, Valley Health Care Center and to her special friend and caregiver, Marie Buttry. Honorary pallbearers will be Marie Buttry, Zetta Mullins, Angie Dixon, Helen Widner, Linda Jones and Mary Wimmer, who were her trusted caregivers. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Abingdon United Methodist Church, 101 E. Main St., Abingdon, VA 24210.
